The Spoken Life
"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, o Lord, my strength and my redeemer." - Psalm 19:14
Have you ever had to make a speech in front of an audience? It can be a very challenging task. You have a limited amount of time to convey your message successfully to those who are listening. Planning is the key to achieving the goal. When you use the proper words, it can captivate your listeners. It can also enrich you with a sense of accomplishment. We have a similar challenge to face in our own spoken life. Words are like powerful tools from the heart. When they are used correctly, they can cultivate great things. But, when they are used incorrectly, the results can be discouraging. We must try to ensure that our words are positive and pleasing to God, to others, and to ourselves. This brings great honor to God and to our relationship with Him. It is an encouragement for others and blesses their life. It is also a great enrichment for our life. – Commentary by Lisa M. Leto
Most gracious Father, I want to be a beautiful reflection of Your magnificent love. Help me to pattern my spoken life so that others will see You in me. All glory to you. Amen.
